Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship 2024: Eligibility, Benefits, Documents Required, Apply Online

Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship 2024 was earlier known as Maulana Azad National Scholarship. This scheme was initially launched on 3rd May 2003 by the Late Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee during a National Conference of Educational & Economic Development of Minorities held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The main aim of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to meritorious girl students. This scheme will sponsor the studies of those students who are unable to pursue their studies due to a lack of finance.

The scholarship provides financial assistance ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 to students selected from Classes 9 to 12. Funded by the Government of India and implemented by Maulana Azad Education Foundation, almost 6 lakh girl students have received the benefits of this scholarship till now.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants studying in classes 9 to 12 can apply for the scholarship
  • Applicants must have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent grades (aggregate) in the previous class
  • The annual family income of the candidate must not be more than ₹2 Lakh from all sources

Documents Required

  • Recent passport-size photograph of the applicant
  • School verification form attested by the Principal of the school/institute
  • Mark sheet of the last exam passed attested by the Principal
  • Parents/Guardians’ income certificate issued by a competent authority declared by the State/UTs Administration.
  • Self-declaration of minority community certificate by the applicant
  • Self-certified copy of the first page of the bank/postal account passbook which should be in the name of the applicant (either single or joint account with her parents)
  • A copy of the applicant’s Aadhaar card (in case of unavailability of an Aadhaar card, applicants can submit a birth certificate, BPL card or Rashan card)

Award and Benefits

How to Apply Online

  1. First of all, you have to go to the official website of the National Scholarship Portal http://Scholarships.gov.in
  2. The home page will open in front of you
  3. On the homepage, you have to click on the new registration
  4. Now a new page will appear before you which will contain all the general instructions
  5. You have to read all these instructions very carefully
  6. The registration page will be displayed on the screen.
  7. Enter the registration details carefully and click on the register option.
  8. After successful registration, log in with your details.
  9. Select the scholarship as Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship.
  10. Enter the details in the application form.
  11. Upload the relevant documents and click on the submit option.
